How It Works
Visitors Come
Guest Reflections contacts and screens people in your community — families and singles, churched and unchurched, new and longtime residents — to visit your church and provide their feedback. Qualified visitors won't reveal their identity during their visit, but you will know they have been there when they place a Guest Reflections card in the offering. Visitors receive a stipend for participating in the process, but many do it just because they enjoy giving their input.
Visitors Observe
Guest Reflections orients visitors to discreetly observe all aspects of the visitor experience. They find out where and when the church services take place, participate in worship, review information about the church and its ministries, converse with others, and take mental or written notes on 14 dimensions of the church environment.
Visitors Reflect
Within 24 hours of their visit, visitors log on to the Guest Reflections web site and complete a professionally designed survey. The survey includes more than 90 rating-scale questions, plus demographics and several open-ended questions to allow visitors to describe their experience in their own words. Your church may also add custom questions. By design, the survey does not cover core identity issues of theology and church governance. Guest Reflections visitors are primarily reporters, but hearing about their likes and dislikes can also be valuable.
Your Church Benefits
Guest Reflections reviews each form to ensure that it meets our feedback standards. When forms are approved, your church leadership is e-mailed a link to the form. After the initial wave of visits, your church receives a summary report with suggested action points. Churches that choose to continue with regular visits receive an annual report to help them track and monitor progress, including comparative results from other churches. At each stage, your church can count on honest feedback to reveal unseen barriers and opportunities for engaging with visitors.
